In the past, a large number of studies have explored the negative impact of economic inequality on the natural environment. However, in terms of people's environmental concern and environmental attitude, what is the impact of economic inequality and what is its internal mechanism? It has not been fully explored. This study measures people's environmental concerns through Google search index, and then analyzes the relationship between economic inequality and people's environmental concerns at the regional level. The results show that regional economic inequality has a negative impact on people's environmental concern. The research results are helpful to improve the understanding of economic distribution and environmental attitudes.
