Parallel 15: Communication strategies for sustainable development

In the digital   environment, media logic permeates the development of culture and   society.  In recent years, Frequent   animal escape events are essentially the embodiment of symbiosis and conflict   between humans and nature. However, previous studies on medialization often   illustrate the media logic or media power by forming individual cases of   social movements. But it is a kind of establishment and infiltration of mediatization, cases without social movements and social conflicts may also   show the mediatization logic of media reports.

Taking the   report of "The escape of three leopards" as the research object,   this paper discusses the media production of news from various media in China   about animals escaping through critical discourse analysis. The paper shows   that the multiple subjects involved in the event present diverse images in   different media contexts, and even the same media uses disparate words to   write images in different stages of the event development. All kinds of media   substitute different media logic, in the report, not only cooperating to   dissolve the leopard as a living entity but also close to the original   situation in the conflicting reporting frame, presenting the overall   characteristics of concealment. However, in the perspective of the media, the   government, media, and institutions cover up the complexity and   professionalism of the event together. The legalized qualitative discourse of   government media, the human-based narrative discourse of market media, and   the animal-based empathic discourse logic of science popular we-media are   evident in the discussion of the media image writing of leopard subject,   responsible subject, and zoo in this paper.    How the zoo is embedded in the city, what metaphors it may contain for   the human world, what role the media should play in environmental events, and   what responsibilities they should take for the construction of ecological   civilization in China are also discussed in the conclusion.
