China is one of the countries with the richest biodiversity in the world. Biodiversity Conservation is an important part of ecological civilization construction, and public participation is the basic principle of biodiversity conservation.This article selected the wechat account of the influential environmental protection NGO-"Shan Shui Conservation Center"("Shanshui") as the research object and crawled all the articles published by the account since its establishment in 2013, after careful selection based on data richness and representativeness, Articles related to projects carried out in AngSai and GuanBa are finally selected as concrete cases studies to summarize the public participation in communication.AngSai, an important habitat for rare animals such as the leopard and the snow leopard, was included in a pilot national park system in 2015.In the course of protection, the indigenous concept of "Sacred Mountain Lakes", rooted in the worship of nature, and the concept of "reincarnation" from the Tibetan Buddhism provide unique "local knowledge" for biodiversity conservation, their familiarity with their homeland gives them an advantage over outsiders in undertaking tasks such as "setting up, retrieving infrared cameras" 、"anti-poaching patrol" and “Provide nature experience services”.Shanshui brings modern organizational experience, rich resources and scientific knowledge to the conservation of biodiversity in AngSai. Shanshui's staff mostly have ecological backgrounds, its consultants include several scientists, and its repeated recruitment of scientific volunteers taps into the power of citizen science.GuanBa is located in the Sichuan Province, where at least six giant pandas live. The local ecological environment has suffered serious damage in history.Shanshui has been working here since 2009.After years of efforts, in addition to the giant panda , Sichuan snub-nosed monkey and other rare wild animals have been significantly restored.The key to the success of GuanBa lies in the active participation of the community.At different stages of conservation, there are leading locals who act as organizers, such as Tang Hong, the then party chief, who first brought Shanshui in 2009.In addition, the capital, technology, platform and ideas provided by Shanshui can better link conservation and development. In the past, because of the great disconnect between protection and development, practice has often stagnated or even regressed, even when locals have the will to protect.After investigation, Shanshui confirmed to support Guanba to do beekeeping cooperatives .From the case studies, the various elements of public participation in biodiversity conservation may take on different forms , and in situ conservation must be community-based, in order for local communities to be truly involved in biodiversity conservation, it is important to establish an intrinsic link between conservation and development. At the same time, local culture should be respected. Only in this way can local people's enthusiasm for conservation be aroused.
